Halloween pics (finally)

Bodie in his costume, he really liked playing with the stethoscope! I'll have to get him one to play with, because I really need mine.

Mindy and I as nerds...not a stretch
really.

Aidan as Bumblebee from Transformers (he REALLY loves this costume, wore it almost every day for a month!)

Derrek as Harry Potter.

Here we are at our community theater called "Little Off Broadway". This first number is "Nothin' Like a Dame" from South Pacific.

Then there's Mindy in "Oklahoma!" She choreographed this one.

Then after that you can see me in the background in my yellowish vest and afro in "Shake Your Groove Thing!" I was one of the cast who could say that I actually DID have an afro back in the 70s. The next pic is of Mindy in her 70s outfit, woo hoooo!

Me in "Sit Down You're Rockin' the Boat" from Guys and Dolls. Mindy also choreographed this.

Me as a drunk in "Belly Up to the Bar" from Annie Get Your Gun. I was told I was a very convincing drunk! I had done some, uh, case studies in the E.R. so I felt really in character. One lady even gave me an A.A. card after the show.

Then our final number, "One" from Chorus Line. Had a great time! Loved everyone in it, we all had a blast! Now back to the rest of my life!

Halloween Party

So we go to this neighborhood Halloween Party, but, of course, remember last minute about it, so while I'm headed to the store (which was about to close so I had to act fast!) Mindy came up with some nerd costumes.  Funny how we had all the nerd trapping we needed right in our own closet.  I didn't have to break into the storage garage, 72 hr. kit, or anything!  My daughter, Aryn, asked me when I was all ready to go "So dad, you wearing a costume to your costume party or you just going as yourself?"  Funny girl.

Cathedral Gorge

Here are some pics of us at Cathedral Gorge, just west of Panaca.  Some of the younger kids climbed so high they couldn't figure out how to get down.  That or they were lazy.  This one is of Bodie hanging out, he loved walking all over and throwing rocks at everything (what is it with boys and destroying stuff?)

Here is Aryn, Aidan, and our Emma Ganowsky.  the Ganowsky's came over from Cedar to visit us on UEA weekend.

Aidan smiling innocently for the camera.  But if you look close you an see that little mind planning more mayhem and destruction!  Be afraid, be very afraid!

I'm smiling because I got called by the Sheriff's dept to do a blood draw, but,
darn it, I'm vacationing with my family!  Catch me next time!

Alec climbing up high.  He thought it was funny to throw rocks down onto us.  He didn't think it was funny when he was walking home.

Here's a good family pic of us on the rocks.  Alec is, of course, messing around again.  we took about fifteen pics and this was one of the best ones of him!

Summer pics

Here is Aidan walking around on the hay bales that surrounded the pig chase arena.  Mindy chased one but I didn't get any pictures dang it!

Here are all the dutch ovens that I cooked with for the 24th dinner.  I think I had about 20, all of which were potatoes.  Fun to cook in, but man!  It was a PAIN to clean all of them!  Oh yeah, and I had to grind my name off all the ones that didn't belong to me that I borrowed!

Sydney selling pies for the Young Women.  I think they made the most money.

This is Alec at the snow cone table yelling something like "Don't take MY picture!"

Me and Bodie at the festivities.  I was in my Scout shirt because we were supposed to help direct traffic.  Instead I had a full time job directing Bodie, and I gotta tell you, it was a full time job!

Lincoln Football

Here you can see Alec on the right (#85) blocking a much bigger Needles tight end.  Alec pushed him around all day.  Recovered a Needles fumble on their one yard line to set up a touchdown, and caught two passes. Lincoln won 43-6!  Pretty good for a kid who was out for a month with a broken wrist.  This afternoon we play Canyon View (5 times our size).  Alec has been back long enough he is able to start and was named one of the team captains.  Go Alec!  Don't let this go to your head though.

The victors leave the field.  Alec wouldn't pose for a picture, so I had to catch this "slice of life" photo.

Our little Bodie pants enjoying a Ritz while sporting stylish headgear.  I was yelled at for not having enough red on the baby, especially so close to the sidelines.  But hey, I don't think he looks enough like a Needles High tailback to get in trouble!

Here is Sydney and some of her friends bundled up at the Lincoln-Needles game.  Man, when the sun goes down out here it gets COLD!  Perfect football weather though, you just have to have an ample supply of hot chocolate.

Blowout at 70 mph: Scary

Changing a tire in the dark on the side of the highway in the dirt, in the COOOOOOLD:  Painful
Having changed another tire the day before:Helpful
Having friends stop and help, despite the bone chilling temps: Priceless!
