Well, here's my new web page, hope you like it and don't think it's too annoying! Right now I'm in Rotations here in Cedar City. Nice to be home, especially since I'm only three miles from work. My buddies in Vegas are all jealous because most of them have a 40 minute commute or more every day, while I'm to the hospital in five minutes, and that's if I stop to get a big gulp!
Rotations are like the reward for getting through classes, where you get to work with a doctor or PA and see real patients. Right now I'm in Family Practice and see a huge range of patients. Today I saw everything from a two week old to an 87 year old, and all day long I didn't see the same diagnosis once. Much different from Pediatrics or Obstetrics where you see the same thing over and over. Only problem with Family Practice is that I don't get to go in on surgery, which is my favorite. Now I only get barfed on, coughed at, and have little two week olds pee on my tie. Need to start using Scotch Guard on my ties, shirts, and pants. At least I didn't have my mouth open.
Mindy is doing pretty good. She's had to start taking her blood sugar every day, but is keeping it under control. Guess after two nine pound babies we finally figured that she does have gestational diabetes. Only 8 weeks to go until "Palmtry" (Aidan's nickname for the baby) comes and we're excited, though none of us more than Mindy.
The rest of the kids are all doing well, Aryn is getting straight As, Alec hasn't been detained by the police lately, Sydney still tries to run the house, Derrek still won't eat any meats, fruits, or vegetables, AND Aidan doesn't run away from home any more. Much nicer than having the neighbors bring him back home every day after his escapades.
Take care all, love and miss all our friends. E-mail us with news. -Bartman
